This Week's Barks

Theme 4
Kids Aplenty

"...the votes are in, and it's time for my concession speech." -- So said Xander himself.

This past week, we were in double reruns, so I decided to do a theme-based action on the kids of BtVS. Thanks for playing, you nifty people! (er, good dingoes?)..Now, here's what y'all said:

cemetery dingochick: The kid (not actor) I liked best on the show so far is:

   The Anointed One.
   Billy Palmer.
   Ryan.
   Celia.
   Little Buffy.

The Winner: Little Buffy.

I'd have to go with Billy Palmer or Ryan, myself.

Maybe with some more flashbacks...

If I could see any one of the characters as a kid, I'd like to see:

   Willow.
   Cordelia.
   Xander.
   Joyce.
   Oz.

The Winner: Xander.

But..Joycie!

Well, if we're talking kids, let's not forget this aspect...

I would completely freak if these two folks produced offspring:

   Spike and Dru.
   Anyone and Faith.
   Giles and Joyce.
   Jenny and Giles.

The Winner: Anyone and Faith.

Should I be worried that only 3 of you chose Jenny and Giles?

Okay, let's put in the Angel question.

To celebrate Angel's leaving, the gang should:

   De-rat Amy.
   Whistle a jaunty tune.
Buy him a new leather jacket.
Consider inviting Angel to play darts.

The Winner: Consider inviting Angel to play darts.

I'm getting all choked up...

Anywhere but here?

It would be cool to see a scene take place at:

   The bowling alley.
   The DMV.
   The dentist's office.
   Corn Dog on a Stick.

The Winner: Corn Dog on a Stick.

With pie for dessert...

NO EPISODE BONUS -- the title just breaks it up a little.

Willow's family:

   Probably doesn't keep kosher.
   Has a thing for trees.
   Is into Joyce Kilmer.
   Probably does keep kosher.

The Winner: Tie between Probably doesn't keep kosher; Has a thing for trees. Hm. Interesting.

Xander probably identifies most with:

   Charlie Brown.
   Snoopy.
   Pig Pen.
   Woodstock.

The Winner: Charlie Brown.

So much for the Snoopy dance.

Cordelia probably identifies most with:

   Veronica Lodge.
   Lucy Van Pelt.
   Nancy.
   Dolly (from the Family Circus).

The Winner: Veronica Lodge.

Well..if she did, she doesn't now...

Inventing The Rosenbergs.

This week, I gave you two options (or both). First, what the heck does Ira Rosenberg, Willow's only father, do for a living? Or, what magazines (3 at most) might Willow subscribe to, besides American Scientist and Scientific American? Lots of interesting responses for this week, many of you thought Ira might be a lawyer or doctor or some kind of computery-type guy. As for the mags, many Wiccan titles came up. Okay well let's see what we've got this week, byte-wise. Job, mags, both...

But first -- Standard disclaimer: Can't post 'em all. Hope the authors don't mind being put up here, and some may be abridged. And again, no name, no bark byte recognition (even though I still like reading what you thought; make it easy on me and put a name on there, please! Thanks!)

Let's start with Ira's profession, then move into Mags, etc.

Rachel (Cicely) said:

I think Willow's dad is a computer programer, and not half as evil as her mom.

Allycat103 said:

Willow's dad is probably non-existent, (I bet Willow's mom adopted her or Willow was really raised by freaky desert people) but if he MUST exist... he's probably a College professor. Seriously! He's gotta have a well paying job, or else how could Willow get a laptop?

From Wyatt:

Ira Rosenberg is an academician like his wife, and likely his daughter. He teaches at Cal State Sunnydale, probably a liberal arts type, but then Willow's mom (forget her name) is the sociologist(?) so her father may be a chemist or more likely a psychologist.

GypAng said:

I bet he works for the CIA. Or some computer place where he secretly hacks into government agencies "to rid this world of evil" Willow has to get it from someone and I really doubt it's from her mom.

From Aeia H.:

Willow's dad: IRS agent. Definitely.

This next one might explain Xander's 6th birthday party...

So-So said:

Clown at Parties.

From Birdboy:

He's a DOLL BLUDGER! :) Not really, I think Ira Rosenberg is a lawyer...

Tutter said:

Where else would she get her funky clothing tastes? Her dad's a pimp! See, when she's acting all shy she's secretly rebelling against the family business.

Some magazines, and then those of you who answered both...

Goldfish Monthly, Modern Wicca

LJ said:

Popular Witchcraft, Exotic Pets (she's got a rat-witch and a werewolf - pretty exotic!)

From Lady Sharona:

Ranger Rick, (they just kept sending it to her...) National Geographic, (for Xander's love of frolicking nymphs...) and Playgirl, (because Evil Willow subscribed to it and she just couldn't "find the time" to cancel it, besides, she still has thoughts about that dominatrix thing..... yeesh.)

From Lydia:

Why would Willow subscribe to magazines if she can just read them off the net?

"How to make your boyfriend forget about your affair", "How to make your parents know you exist," and "Witches-wear-daily".

Biography magazine (in case Xander misses an ep)
Whatever gift brochure you get when you send money to PBS - hey you can get periodic table ties!
and.... it's a tie between Teen people (she IS a girl after all) and Wired (she is also a computer geek) my vote goes for teen people

Ira runs the kosher deli that Angel buys his blood from.
