This Week's Barks

Enemies

"...the votes are in, and it's time for my concession speech." -- So said Xander himself.

This past week, you told me what you thought about Enemies...Yee-ha, the new episode increased voter turnout! Yay! Thanks bunches to all those who played!...Now, here's what y'all said:

dingochick: Joyce:

Was a little too flattered after Angel complimented her hair.
Was way underused in this episode.
Is gonna take the news about Faith badly.

The Winner: Was a little too flattered after Angel complimented her hair.

Y'know, personally, I would've gone with, okay, actually all of them...

Admit it, the Mayor is one quirky guy. But I must say, I share his feelings about germs. I use Purell..and have turned many pals onto it..uh, digression.

The Mayor probably:

Built that mini golf course we saw in the episode Ted.
   Has relatives that resemble bezoars.
Has one of those "superman" complexes.

The Winner: Built that mini golf course we saw in the episode Ted.

It just makes the most sense to me.

Wesley as a replacement for...Xander? Brr..let's not go there. Yet.

Judging from this episode, Wesley:

Was probably picked on by older siblings.
Is sort of reluctant to go for the gusto with Cordy.
Has to admit, Giles is his superior.
Is miffed that he didn't get to send Faith to the Watchers Council.

The Winner:Was probably picked on by older siblings.

Again, I kinda think all of these suffice. I'm too glad I don't have to choose...

Buffy's been getting the whole nine yards this season...Nine yards of what? Now it's gonna bug me all day...in the meantime,

Buffy should:

   "Accidentally" kill Faith.
Go to more movies with Angel, preferably comedies.
Throw out the crappy Xmas gift that Faith gave her.
   Invite Angel to play darts.

The Winner: Throw out the crappy Xmas gift that Faith gave her.

Fine, fine, she couldn't really kill Faith I guess....

So he's not the main Watcher guy now...he's got options.

Giles:

Might hide his books where Willow can't find them.
Is killing me with his remarks.
Could get reinstated as Watcher Supreme.

The Winner: Could get reinstated as Watcher Supreme.

Me, I'd pick option 2, also; admit it, he's one big bucket of funny.

NEW EPISODE BONUS -- the title just breaks it up a little.

Snyder:

Is so clueless about the Mayor.
   Wouldn't stop graduation for anything.
   Might try to flunk Buffy?
Won't set foot in the library for the rest of the season.

The Winner: Wouldn't stop graduation for anything.

"I don't get it. What is it, the Ascension?" Apologies to The Puppet Show ending.

The best continuity in terms of dialogue was:

The reference to the bus station area of town.
Xander's intimidation of Willy the snitch.
   Xander's penchant for engravings.
Faith's reference to the Scooby Gang.

The Winner: Xander's intimidation of Willy the snitch.

Coming in second, Faith's Scooby reference. Me, I enjoyed the running gag of the bus station part of town..!

After Buffy sorta broke it off with Angel, she:

   Met Willow for mochas aplenty.
   Went home to call Scott.
Watched a sad movie with her mom.
   Went to class.

The Winner: Met Willow for mochas aplenty.

And probably some serious moping. Sad movie choice, a close second.

What Did You Think of This Episode?

Then finally, your non-dingo-guided opinion about the episode. Lots of you thought the ep. was mediocre, or freaked out at your tv sets while watching. Some of you said you really hated Faith; others enjoyed this side of her better. And can you believe, so many folks wondered about the "coupling" of Faith & Angelus...Was it a "sack" race, if you get my drift? Also bunches of you said you were glad you didn't read spoilers! And there was the: Did he fasten the chain cuffs or did he not fasten them? quandary. Okay, enough, I'm stopping.

This week there were yet again plenty of fun answers. Can't post 'em all, unfortunately. But here're some of 'em. Hope the authors don't mind. Some may be abridged so I could put more of 'em up...

iluvpooh said: I liked seeing Angelus, but I was happy Angel wasn't bad. Unfortunately I read a spoiler and knew he was faking it...I've got to stop doing that.

And that is why you will never find spoilers at this site...I don't wanna know, myself. Heh. Sorry to all those who want spoilers here...~dingochick

Plain Jane said: ....I also want to say I TOLD YOU SO!! To all of those people that I don't personally know who said that Faith was gonna redeem herself. Okay, well I'm done.

sarah said: I bet the mayor TOLD Ted about the course.

From Ari: ...we got the villian we really needed in Faith....think about it, she's pretty well matched to Buffy in strength and resources, we can expect some catty banter, and her knowledge of how the Scooby gang works may lead to some better-than-your-average-ambush plots.

Daltrey observed: And did ya notice how Willow was riding the self-assured teen train? She was a regular font of advice for Buffy. Guess having your main competition in the best friend category become a Grade A in-league-with-evil-invincible-civil-servants-bitca will do that for a girl.

Evil invincible civil servants? Anybody else get the wig from that concept?

Hoyt said: BtVS needs only one thing to put it over the top: Gueststars. In no particular order, here are some gueststars to consider: Phyllis Diller, Casey Kasem, Mary Tyler Moore, Mark-Paul Gosselar, William Shatner, the oldy lady from Titanic, Reese Witherspoon, Mike Myers, and, of course, Davy Jones (as an evil monkey-man).

Maybe he could borrow Oz's suit!

Cicely said: ...the mayor is *really* creepin' me out! He's like Mr. Rogers and Charles Manson in one.

Janie said: This whole season has been one big rollercoaster ride. And I'm sitting in the front seat with my hands raised to the sky. I was totally suckered by the Angel-transformation...me and Faith...me and Faith and Xander...

From Jen G.: Have you noticed that ever since "Amends," Angel's been much less guilt-ridden and brooding? The writers are giving him better lines and more to do. Guess he's coming to terms with his vampire history.

Transition..Transition...then more comments. End of transition, transition. Few more to go, then we're home free:

ElaineMc said: Gotta love an ep with *two* British guys. Now, if we could just get Ethan back....

JML said: ...The thing I kinda dislike was the way in which so many things about the mayor came out at once.

Redbeard said: Buffy & Angel at the movies--gives a whole new meaning to the concept of "necking in the back row"!
