This Week's Barks

Choices

"...the votes are in, and it's time for my concession speech." -- So said Xander himself.

This past week, you told me what you thought about Choices...Yee-ha, the new episode increased voter turnout! Yay! Thanks bunches to all those who played!...Now, here's what y'all said:

dingochick: The reason none of the gang knows that Cordy works retail is:

   Cordy can keep a secret.
   Harmony hasn't found out yet.
Hey, we only just found out...give them time. Sheesh.
She's not really working there, it's just research on how the other half lives.

The Winner: Harmony hasn't found out yet.

But it was close..the sheesh choice came in second. Too bad I can't reference "The Prom" episode here. Dang!

Aunt Maureen. Aunt Arlene. What is it with this show and the "een" names for aunts?

Buffy's Aunt Arlene:

Had no idea who the hell Joyce was.
Is already planning the dinners she'll have when Buffy arrives.
   Probably wasn't Celia's mother.

The Winner: Had no idea who the hell Joyce was.

Is thinking of having her number changed...no wait, that wasn't an option.

An ep. just isn't an ep. without some cheesy mechanical looking gross thing. Ah.

Those creepy crawlies that came out of the Box of Gavrok:

Were too much like the baby bezoars we saw in Bad Eggs.
Reminded me of the spiders in the bedroom scene in Something Wicked This Way Comes.
Probably don't like Nestle Toll House Chocolate Chip cookies.
Should have popped out of that kid's lunch sack when Snyder opened it.

The Winner:Should have popped out of that kid's lunch sack when Snyder opened it.

That would've been quite the scene...

You have to wonder about the Mayor. Like, if he'd been on some kind of medication ten billion years ago, could any of this have been avoided? Eh..probably not.

The Mayor should:

Seriously consider taking some chill pills.
Never have married someone named Edna Mae.
   Try making sugar cookies.
   Invite Angel to play darts.

The Winner: Never have married someone named Edna Mae.

Well, maybe I guess. But didn't you love his kinda southern-y accent when he said her name? Or whatever?

If Sunnydale is so small, why does it have its own airfield, hmm?

When the plane at the airfield was shown, I:

   Shed a tear for Kendra.
Hoped like heck that Kendra would emerge.
   Thought it looked pretty dark.
Wondered if they showed a Chevy Chase/dog movie.

The Winner: Wondered if they showed a Chevy Chase/dog movie.

Well...I thought it was dark. And I kept thinking about Kendra...and her favorite shirt.

NEW EPISODE BONUS -- the title just breaks it up a little.

The best lines in this episode went to:

   Angel.
   The Mayor.
   Willow.
   Snyder.

The Winner: Willow!

Score one more for reliable-dog-geyser-person!

When Willow tells Sheila about her college choice,:

Sheila will call Joyce to arrange another stake-Willow-burning.
She'd better be wearing her resolve face.
She'll still be buzzing from her mocha high.
Oz's nation will be there with her.

The Winner: She'd better be wearing her resolve face.

Coming in second, the stake-burning reference.

The freakiest thing about this episode was:

Seeing all those vamps wearing suits.
When Oz showed his anger by hurling the spellpot thing.
That Angel was kind of amusing.
Seeing Cordy look kind of sad while holding up that dress.

The Winner: Seeing Cordy look kind of sad while holding up that dress.

And yet, she only beat Oz out by one....

What Did You Think of This Episode?

Then finally, your non-dingo-guided opinion about the episode. Okay, I'd be remiss in my dingochickly duties if I didn't say that everyone was so overjoyed to get a new episode that they frankly didn't care about much else. The thing that got much of the response was Oz's expression of anger, etc. And then many folks said that this episode just seemed to sort of set up the finale. Still others were loving the Willowy aspects. And of course, no one liked Buffy's hair. Poor Buffy's hair. Willow, on the other hand...her dress got quite the good response!

This week there were yet again plenty of fun answers. Can't post 'em all, unfortunately. But here're some of 'em. Hope the authors don't mind. Some may be abridged so I could put more of 'em up...

OH! The people reading this probably aren't the ones doing it...but hey, if you're going to take the time to tell me what you thought of the episode, couldn't you just leave some kind of name or alias? Unless you really don't want to be considered for the Bark Bytes! page. It's just getting really annoying reading them and wanting to put them up, but having no one to credit. Yeesh, is that too much to ask? Whoops, sorry. I left my rant mode on.

SuperG said: It's about time someone noticed that the school is open 24 hrs a day, though. And it stressed me out enough so I smoked around 50 cigarettes.

belle said: ....the spiders made Oz's werewolf suit look really expensive all of a sudden...

Snicker...we're talking about the weresuit, and Oz didn't even wolf out this time. I love this!

DragonShade said: For the record, I think the spider thingies in the box should have invited Angel to play darts. I was really hoping it was an option this time, and was disappointed that it wasn't....

Heh. Actually that's not a bad idea...I bet having all those legs helps when it comes to dart-playing..

From Cordy's Toy: ...'m kinda wondering about the IQ level of Sunndale....they voted this Mayor in????

Yeah, well...looks like anybody can get elected these days! Heh.

Jaxom observed: I was jonesing so much for a new episode that there is no way I can answer this objectively. I was ready to be thrown crumbs and happily lap them up.

Doughnut crumbs....mmm...And thanks for your note..it gave my bro. (and me!) a happy. *See, people? Give me a happy and you get posted. No, no, I'm kidding. Really. Sheesh.

ILuvPooh said: First, that was the biggest lunch bag i've ever seen. Did he have a whole gourmet meal in there?

LOL for real.

If you want to see what Bark Bytes have come before, visit The Bark Bytes Archives or Dingo Action Archives..I forgot what I named it...it's pretty small right now. Be sure to take this week's Dingo Action!

Friendly reminder: If you've filled out the bottom part about the site before, no need to again..but leave your name if you don't mind..I like to know who said what! Plus, you could be featured on this page. Okay that's probably more of a deterrent, but hey. Also please only send in one dingo action; I've been receiving some duplicates from a few folks and it just kinda irks my mailbox's owner. (Sorry! But hey. The less stuff I have to go through, the sooner I can get the results up. As evidenced this past week, she slyly remarked.) Thanks! Besides, I never get to rant.
